Why Not Landfill?

Health

Various studies across the globe have indicated significantly increased chances of contracting cancers in both men and women living in close proximity to landfill sites. The most commonly reported effect of living near a landfill is low birth weight and small size among children. Studies have also reported finding an increased chance of birth defects among babies whose parents live near a landfill.

There are 929 school children in daily, close proximity to the proposed Landfill site, excluding pre-school and nursery (source: WSGFL data 16/02/08). Schools nearby are Thakeham Nursery, Thakeham First School, Ashington First School, West Chiltington Community First, William Penn School and Rydon Community College.

Would we choose to risk our health and that of our children?
